In tender for 5G frequencies five telecommunications operators are in the running – Iliad Italia, Fastweb, Wind 3, Vodafone and Telecom Italia – who submitted overall initial bids for 2,48 billion euros. The Ministry of Economic Development made it known in a note.

“When the deadline expired, five companies presented the initial economic offers, while the companies Linkem SpA e Open Fiber SpA, which had also been admitted to the procedure, did not submit offers", reads the note.

“The total amount of the initial offers presented was 2.481.002.804 euros. The offers were presented by Iliad Italia, Fastweb, Wind 3, Vodafone and Telecom Italia ”, adds the ministry.

An examination of the initial offers, the note continues, revealed that only Iliad Italy, in its capacity as remedy taker (as defined by an Agcom resolution), presented an offer for the reserved lot in the 700 MHz band for an amount equal to 676,47 million. The tender procedure for this lot must therefore be considered concluded with the consequent award of this block of frequencies to Iliad Italia.

instead no initial offers have been submitted for the SDL 700 band, as well as for the specific block in the 3600 -3800 Mhz band.

From Thursday September 13th, adds the Mise, the phase of the competitive improvements. The ministry adds that details of the offers presented by the operators will be published tomorrow on the institutional website.
