Five workers who worked on the railway tracks Turin-Milan in Brandizzo they were run over by a train and lost their lives. They were employees of a contractor company in Borgo Vercelli, Sigifer. The youngest victim was 22 years old, the oldest was 52. According to initial investigations, the train was traveling at the permitted speed of 160 km/h but, according to procedure, the work had to begin after the passage of that train. There Prosecutor's Office of Ivrea investigates the mystery and the causes of the tragedy.

Immediate condolences and indignation for the umpteenth tragedy at work of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who was visiting Torre Pellice, and who immediately went to Brandizzo to pay homage to the victims: "Dying at work is an outrage to the values ​​of coexistence".
