4th International Culture Festival of Bergamo

The fourth edition of the event, scheduled until May 19 in the City of the Thousand, offers a journey to discover talents in the world of art and culture. The aim of the event is to ensure that culture can really be a tool for growth and change for young people.

Valuing young talents and discovering the opportunities that Italy offers them is one of the objectives of this fourth edition of the Bergamo International Festival.

Concerts, shows, workshops and exhibitions make up the mosaic of free appointments which, once again this year, are transforming Bergamo into a lively artistic and cultural laboratory among churches, museums, squares and schools.

But also the music is also the protagonist in this fourth edition of the International Festival of Culture. Many appointments with musicians and concerts scheduled in these two weeks of the Festival. On Monday 13, at the Teatro delle Grazie, the Orchestra Silente Venti will perform in the concert “L'angelo d'ivorio”. On Friday 17th the Trio Broz will be on stage and will present the new CD “Tang'Jok (Them), which recounts transatlantic 18th-century string writing. On May 19, the concert by Orazio Sciortino "Verdi and Wagner on the piano" is scheduled. Finally, to enhance young people, this year the International Culture Festival, in collaboration with Sony Classical Italia, is organizing the Sony Classical Talent Scout of Bergamo, a real Talent to select the best talents in the music field. The mobile recording studio of Swing (leading company in Italy for new recording technologies and technical partner of Sony Classical Italia for numerous record recordings) will be located inside the Giovanni XXIII Congress Centre: young classical artists will be able to record a song choice of their repertoire by making free use of the best means on the market, thus experiencing the experience of being in a real professional recording studio. A selection of the songs recorded in the four days will be broadcast by Radio Popolare Network, Sony Classical's official partner in this initiative, during the Rotoclassica broadcast. At the unquestionable judgment of a jury made up of musicians and technicians from the sector, the best results will be included in a record compilation sponsored by the Bergamo International Culture Festival and published by Sony Classical Italia.

But there is no lack of it Philosophy…On 14, 15 and 16 May it will be she who will address the theme of “Talents” through three meetings.

On May 14th we will talk about art, genius and talent with Elio Franzini, from the State University of Milan; May 15 of aesthetic creativity with Roberto Diodato of the Catholic University of Milan; on May 16 of Kierkegaard's aesthetic intuition with Virgilio Melchiorre, artistic consultant of the Festival for Philosophy.

La photography and contemporary art they will play a leading role in the context of the International Culture Festival, through the meetings and exhibitions organized in the city. It begins with the exhibition "In the air line", set up until June 30 at the oratory of San Lupo, in the city, where historical photographs and new shots of Vincenzo Castella's views of Bergamo and Jerusalem will be exhibited. On Friday 17, on the occasion of Artdate, the contemporary art days organized by The Blank, the presentation of the Electa catalog of the exhibition and the visit will be held in the presence of the artist Castella. It continues on Wednesday 8 May with the meeting with Edward Rozzo, specialized in contemporary photography, on 14 May with the artist Dimitri Kozaris and on 15 May with Enrico De Pascale, critic, art historian and contemporary visual art professional.

Again this year the protagonists will be above all young people, to whom various meetings scheduled in schools are dedicated. On 14 May, at the Sarpi classical high school, meeting with Mattia Rondelli, who will explain to the students the role of the conductor, his function, musical and professional responsibility. The "Italo Calvino (16-1923): the Invisible Cities" laboratory-show of instantaneous writing and music is scheduled for 1985 May, organized in collaboration with Notti di Luce: on the thread of Tell me what the wind is, regional literary competition, is an instant writing contest is scheduled for young writers from Bergamo schools. On stage, four musicians and an actor will propose some significant paintings from Calvino's cult book, while the young people will translate their world full of emotions into words. His message passes through flavors and aromas, the result of the ability of the masters of the kitchen to know how to choose top quality ingredients to give life to unique creations. It takes talent to do that. Once again this year the Bergamo International Culture Festival, in the wake of the success of the "Cuochi in Scena" food and wine festival, wanted to pay homage to good cooking thanks to the initiative "Not only Festival - Proposals for taste". The objective of the event is twofold: on the one hand to make haute cuisine accessible to all, on the other to enhance the creativity of commercial establishments such as pastry shops, takeaways and wine bars in Bergamo and its province.

The Bergamo International Culture Festival is conceived by the Bergamo International Culture Festival Association and is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Diocese of Bergamo, the University of Bergamo and the Territorial school office of Bergamo.
