74 years have passed since the Italians and, for the first time at a national level, the Italian women voted to give life to the Republic. The anniversary will be celebrated in an anti-Covid way but will also mark the reopening of important museums and archaeological areas in Rome. Here is the program for the day

Today, 2 June 2020, the Italian Republic turns 74. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the party will be celebrated in a lesser way: it was in Rome the traditional military parade at the Imperial Forums has been cancelled, too dangerous to the risk of contagion. Green light, however, to the Frecce Tricolori.

The first appointment of the day, however, will be another one. To celebrate the referendum with which on 2 June 1946 the Italians put an end to the Kingdom to give life to the Republic (first national vote by universal suffrage in the history of our country), the head of state, Sergio Mattarella, will place a laurel wreath in front at 9.15 to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, on the Altare della Patria (Piazza Venezia) before visiting Codogno in Lombardy, where the Coronavirus nightmare started.

But the most awaited event of the party for 2 June 2020 will undoubtedly be the exhibition of Frecce Tricolori, which will fly over the skies of Rome, concluding the tour of the country that began on May 25th.

All projects party on June 2, 2020 the National Association of Italian Partisans will also participate (Anpi), which at 10.30 will pay homage to the tombs of women elected to the Constituent Assembly, such as the former Speaker of the Chamber, Nilde Iotti, and Maria De Unterrichter Jervolino. The celebration will take place in the monumental cemetery of Verano and the mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, should also participate.

In the evening, at 19 pm, the President of the Republic will speak once again, who will go to theSpallanzani Institute to thank the doctors and nurses who are fighting against the epidemic. A concert in memory of the victims of Covid will also be held in the same hospital.

Meanwhile, on Monday at 18.45 it was held in the gardens of the Quirinale a concert of symphonic music (not open to the public) to remember the victims of the Covid-19. The orchestra of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma performed, conducted by maestro Daniele Gatti.

Finally, on June 2, 2020 important reopen in Rome museums and monuments such as the Ara Pacis, the Mercati di Traiano, the Centrale Montemartini, and the Gallery of Modern Art, as well as the archaeological areas and the Imperial Forums.
