Prosecco, Asti and Franciacorta, standard-bearers of Made in Italy bubbles in the world, now challenge French Champagne on an equal footing on international markets. In 2018, the export of Italian sparkling wine reached historical record of 391 million kilos, doubling the number of bottles sold abroad in ten years.  

About 520 million bottles end up abroad equal to over 70% of the national production of bubbles. Outside the national borders i the most passionate consumers are the British with exported bottles which however remained substantially stable in 2018 while the United States remain in second place despite the 9% leap and Germany is in third position on the podium, which also "receives" a record growth of 26% in quantity .

Italian sparkling wine is also very popular in Russia, given the 19% increase despite the tensions and problems caused by the continuation of the embargo on a series of Made in Italy food products.

On the occasion of Vinitaly, Coldiretti will pay particular attention to internationalization and sustainability, but also to new trends in the world of wine, from production to consumption with the presentation of surveys, research and targeted exhibitions. It begins on Sunday 7 April at 9,30 with the inauguration of the new Casa Coldiretti in front of the main entrance of the exhibition center (Ingresso Cangrande), in the presence of the national president Ettore Prandini.
